Kim Man

Initial session £30 (50 minutes)

The initial session is to establish the working relationship; to explore your main concerns, enabling me to understand your reasons for seeking counselling.  This is an opportunity for you to find out how counselling works and if it is what you require at this moment, as well as to determine whether my approach is suited to you.

Counselling sessions: £40 (50 minutes)

All sessions will occur on the same day and time each week.  I offer short term and long term counselling, depending on the work required for your individual needs.  The sessions will be reviewed throughout the therapy.

About Me

At times life can be an uphill struggle which can make us feel confused, despondent and directionless - not knowing what to do or who to talk to.  People may seek counselling for different reasons.  Whatever difficulties you are experiencing, I can support you in a safe and confidential place where I can help you to explore and identify your needs, working alongside you to gain a better understanding of why you may feel the way you do and working towards making change happen.

As an experienced counsellor, I work with various people who seek help and support for various issues they are facing, such as: depression, anxiety, cultural issues, relationships, loss and self development as well as many other obstacles and challenges that life can throw at us.

I am familiar with working with clients undergoing difficult situations including miscarriages, physical and emotional abuse and relationship issues.  I have worked with people affected by crime; supporting them through the aftermath of their ordeal.

I offer short term and long term counselling and I use techniques to suit my client’s individual needs.  I provide emotional support in a non-judgmental way and I will listen to you unconditionally with empathy, care and respect.

I am currently practicing in an agency providing counselling to NHS referrals for depression and anxiety.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and I adhere to their ethical framework for good practice.

I am bilingual in English and Cantonese.  I understand the Chinese cultural background and also have experience with other diverse cultural communities.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves"
Viktor E. Frankl

I am mindful that the process of starting counselling can be daunting, therefore I offer an initial session for you to meet me before deciding whether you would like to go ahead with counselling.
