Many children and young people experience
upsetting and confusing emotional events, which can cause long-term
emotional damage. These can range from sudden changes within the home or at
school right through to the trauma of losing a loved one, all of which can
affect a child’s behaviour. Such events can trigger anger issues, cause low
self-esteem or a lack of motivation.
As a licensed NLP4kids Practitioner I use
strategies adapted from mainstream NLP methodologies. NLP is often likened
to CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy). It has a structured way of challenging
unhelpful generalisations that children or teenagers might have about their
world or their abilities. These strategies challenge unhelpful thought
patterns, moving the attitude and mind set of children and young people
towards a solution,
resulting in positive outcomes.
I help children and
young people to manage their emotions, overcome behaviour and anxiety issues
and improve confidence. Teaching simple and effective skills will not only
help children and teenagers to overcome difficulties they are experiencing
now, they will also help them throughout their lives. A powerful tool set
for them to reach their full learning potential, enrich their lives and
empower them to achieve personal goals.
