Clinical Psychology

Child and Adult

Dr Melissa Bowman

Clinical Psychologist BSc, PG Dip, DClinPsych.

I offer evidence-based cognitive behavioural (CBT) interventions to children (7+), adolescents and adults experiencing a range of emotional difficulties (see below for an extensive list). Where appropriate, I integrate other third wave CBT treatment models including aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I have specific expertise in working with children and young people, and a special interest in treating OCD and anxiety difficulties, as well as significant experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASC/ASD and ADHD.

My therapeutic work with adults typically includes anxiety, panic attacks and/or depression in the context of workplace stress as well as expertise in supporting parental mental wellbeing.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with postgraduate doctoral level training and expertise in treating mental health difficulties, of varying nature and severity, across the lifespan. I qualified as a clinical psychologist from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2018. Since this time, I have been working in the NHS in Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), along with independent work in the private sector with children,
adolescents and adults.

I am registered with the Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC) and have a full enhanced DBS.
